As grocery stores are struggling to stay stocked due to fears surrounding coronavirus (COVID-19), Joe Giudice is picking his dinner ingredients straight from the ground.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 14 premiere May 5th at 8/9c on Bravo and stream next day on Peacock.

"Living off the land to stay healthy!!" The Real Housewives of New Jersey husband, who is separated from wife Teresa Giudice, captioned an Instagram video on Wednesday, March 18. "We are using natural resources from Mother Nature to eat! Tonight’s dinner is broccoli."

In the clip, Joe is returning from a hike with members of his family as the group stops to grab some greens from the land. "We're picking wild broccoli over here," he explained in the video, noting that they also found asparagus. "Tonight, with a little fried chicken I'm gonna make."

"We can't go to the stores," explained Joe, who is living in Italy, a country currently on lockdown in an effort to contain the spread of the virus. "We gotta go pick wild stuff over here."

Luckily, Joe and his family can rely on nature at the moment for many of their nutrition needs. "We don't have to go to the market," he said. "We just gotta come take a walk in the woods over here and we get everything."

The excursion is a welcome activity for Joe, who previously expressed that he felt he couldn't "just sit in the house all day" in self-isolation. To keep busy, he journeyed to the mountains with a few friends, noting he was "staying out of the towns, cafes, and everything else having a little card game."

Back at home in New Jersey, Teresa isn't having quite as much luck finding dinner items. The mom of four recently documented a trip to a grocery store, where she was shocked to find empty shelves. “Look, there’s no chicken,” Teresa said as she panned across bare refrigerators. “Are you kidding me?”
