You Need to See the Cake Buddy Valastro Made for His Son’s Holy Communion (Melissa Gorga Was a Guest!)
If you're thinking this holy communion party had one showstopper of a cake, you're not wrong.
Somehow, Melissa Gorga makes it to all the sweetest holy communion parties. After planning her son Joey's big bash about a year ago — and pulling off a party that certainly didn't skimp on the sweets —The Real Housewives of New Jersey mom was a guest at another over-the-top celebration. And when we say over the top, we mean delicious.
On May 17, Melissa and her family hit a blowout bash for Buddy Valastro's son, Carlo. When your dad is known as the "Cake Boss," you can bet your party will have one showstopper of a cake. Well, we're pleased to report that Carlo and his guests were treated to just that.
In photos from the evening, Melissa showed off a towering, six-tiered cake with some understated icing. Actually, scratch that: The icing was gold, and it created gilded frames and crosses all over the glitzy dessert. The guest of honor's name was written in frosting on the top tier, and decorations toward the middle looked like an edible communion suit.
You really have to see this for yourself:
That wasn't it for sweets! The lavish bash also had a doughnut wall, which the young party boy looked very pleased with:
