Bethenny Frankel isn't the only mom from The Real Housewives of New York City who is rolling up her sleeves and getting to work where it is desperately needed right now.
Indeed, Luann de Lesseps traveled to the Florida Keys on Tuesday to work with the Red Cross' Hurricane Irma relief efforts there. She was first briefed by the organization on what to expect during her day ahead.
However, it's only instinctual that affection and hugs can help boost spirits, when paired with targeted positive actions.
She learned that there are still many residents who don't have basics like running water, electricity or much food, and urged for people to donate for relief there as well as in Texas and Puerto Rico in a video that showed just a glimpse of the physical devastation left behind in the Keys.
Luann also pointed out that people who may not be able to afford to make monetary donations can instead volunteer their time to help in some way.
Her volunteer work comes amid reports that her divorce from Tom D'Agostino has been finalized, which she heard about while in Florida.
“It’s what we both decided upon in the end, and even though we decided that, it’s sad,” she told People. “It’s an end to something that was so, so incredible. And I just, I’ve got a lot of emotions. I don’t even know what to say. I mean, it’s sad. It’s sad for me, but I’m putting myself to work, keeping myself busy, and trying to move past it and move on to the next chapter of my life.”
Giving back is an excellent way to begin that journey.
