Bang It Out
Bethenny talks fashion, food, and her conflict with Kelly.
Thank you so much for buying Naturally Thin and telling all of your friends. We hit number 5 on the NY Times Best Seller list in the first week and I am so grateful and humbled and excited. Unleash your skinny girl!
Now down to the nitty-gritty. It isn't that I don't like clothes or fashion shows. It's just that it doesn't have anything to do with me, so I'm not going to pretend that I absolutely have to be there. I'm not a fashionista. I care about seasonal food, not seasonal clothes.
There was an awkward tension between Kelly and myself at the Jill Stuart show because we have been forced together for the show, when I simply don't care for her. There is no competitiveness between us whatsoever, because our lives have nothing to do with one another. Plus, I'm competitive with myself, not with others.
Jill produced an incredible event in a very short time. It's not that people can't get things done - I'm just a person that wants to get down to it rather than go in circles. I like to make a timeline and a list and to bang it out.
I produced large-scale events such as the Grammys, Emmys, movie premieres, and more... in my past life. I'm a net net kind of gal. I need to get back to my full-time business.
I wasn't surprised when Kelly refused to lend her name to Jill's charity. She wanted to let the audience know just how important she is, when the audience is smart enough to figure that out for themselves. The irony is that Kelly's name is always on random non-charity invites.
Jill's Zang Toi luncheon was very nice, very fancy and the clothes were incredible. She was the bride and I love to see her happy. But it concerned me when Jill was sending the "don't eat" message and "put water and ketchup on your food" mentality. But she did plug one of my Naturally Thin rules, "Taste everything. Eat nothing." Granted it was taken out of context, but I appreciate the mention. I don't condone not eating and living on diet coke. It's what is wrong with Hollywood.
My book tour has been incredible and successful and even Tamra from the OC came to support me. She's been blogging about our show and I love her honest take. She's a cool broad and her husband is terrific!
