How the Kardashians Have Changed Plastic Surgery

The members of the Kardashian-Jenner family are trendsetters, especially when it comes to beauty. These days, many women ache for a fuller booty as well as lips, thanks to them.

And that's something Heather and Terry Dubrow, authors of the new beauty book Dr. and Mrs. Guinea Pig Present the Only Guide You'll Ever Need to the Best Anti-Aging Treatments, have taken note of as well. "I'll tell you, the Kardashians come out and talk a lot about the treatments they do, and I think they look great. All of them. Khloe [Kardashian], Kim [Kardashian], Kylie [Jenner]," Terry said of the celebrities he thinks are looking the best with their beauty treatments today during an interview with The Lookbook (clip above). "What they're doing and the stuff they're talking about is working for them. They look natural, they look great, and they're the ones that really move the needle these days in plastic surgery. So I applaud them for what they're doing."

Terry, who is a plastic surgeon in Newport Beach, California, went on to say that Kylie has particularly had a major influence on plastic surgery since she has been open about having filler injected into her lips since she was a teen. "So that brought up a new dialogue as to when is it OK to have plastic surgery procedures," Terry said, explaining comments he and Heather previously made during an interview with DailyMail.com in September. "Paul [Nassif] and I from Botched, we feel that before 18, unless it's a particular type of thing you're bothered about or being teased about in school, that that's too early. So Kylie did it at 17, had lip fillers. We are not advocates of that. We're not saying it's wrong for everybody, just for us as plastic surgeons, we don't believe it's the right message to send."

"Kylie really moves the needle — any of the Kardashians do — about plastic surgery," Terry told The Lookbook.

As the mother of four, Heather said that the young age at which Kylie had this cosmetic procedure has really given her something to think about as well. "I think Kylie looks beautiful. She's a beautiful girl, and it's not a judgmental statement. I think as a mother, it lends itself to a bigger conversation," she told The Lookbook. "Is it if they're being teased and their ears are sticking out, I think that's really acceptable to be able to do procedures like that. But what age is lip filler, breast augmentation, liposuction, when is that OK? So I think it was just a larger conversation and one that everyone makes individually for their own families but just a dialogue that should be had."

As for a celebrity who could use some work in the anti-aging department, that hits a little closer to home for Terry and Heather. "I think the one celebrity who's doing a lot of things and doesn't look good is Dr. Paul Nassif," Terry joked about his fellow Botched plastic surgeon who is often the butt of his jokes. "What he's doing is not working. He should stop it."
