The Orange County Housewives Share Their Top Tips for Home Design
At BravoCon 2022, Heather Dubrow, Shannon Storms Beador, Taylor Armstrong, and Tamra Judge revealed how they go about creating gorgeous homes.
As we know, the ladies of The Real Housewives of Orange County put a great deal of effort into their incredible houses. So at BravoCon 2022, a fan took the opportunity to ask for some interior design advice, and Shannon Storms Beador, Taylor Armstrong, Heather Dubrow, and Tamra Judge were happy to share some of their top tips.
At the Oh Say Can You OC? panel on Sunday, October 16, Shannon explained that she has “a lot of crystals” in her home, but there are even more than meets the eye. Heather asked Shannon, “Didn’t you put crystals in the foundation of your last house?” which Shannon confirmed was true.
Taylor, who is joining the show for Season 17, revealed her go-to lighting choice. “I love chandeliers,” The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum said. “I feel like you can’t go wrong with a good chandelier.”
Tamra highlighted the importance of staying true to one’s personal preferences. “In your home, when you spend so much time there, you have to have an environment that makes you feel at peace,” she said. “I have a very neutral palette. It’s very whites, creams, beiges, like light wood floors. It’s just what makes you feel comfortable.”
“If you like color [or] you like neutral palettes, it’s what you should do, because your home is your sanctuary,” added Tamra, who announced in July that she will be returning to RHOC for the upcoming season. “If that makes you feel good, life’s better.”
While Heather Dubrow’s house has many jaw-dropping features, there’s a particularly luxe one that stands out to her. “Not to sound bougie, but, I mean, a towel-warming drawer is really nice,” she said.
Although Emily Simpson and Gina Kirschenheiter didn’t weigh in on the question, both cast members have gone through the process of redoing their homes recently. Emily shared a peek at her “amazing” renovation in August, and Gina opened up about giving her home a “game changer” transformation in February. “Everything is stunningly beautiful,” she noted. “But it’s also very functional for us as a family.”
