Emily Simpson Shares What's "Great" About Shane's Law Career
RHOC's Emily Simpson dished on how her husband, Shane Simpson, is doing in his law career since he passed the bar exam.
For Emily Simpson's first three seasons as a cast member on The Real Housewives of Orange County, viewers always had the same outstanding question after each reunion wrapped: did her husband, Shane Simpson, pass the California Bar Exam?
Though Emily herself has been licensed to practice law for quite some time now, it wasn't as simple for her husband.
As RHOC viewers will remember, Shane's journey to pass the bar put a strain on his marriage to Emily. After failing the exam a few times, Shane really dedicated his efforts to preparing for the test. At times, this meant that he was spending nights away from his family at a hotel to study.
The stress of the exam brought the couple to the brink of divorce, but things managed to improve by the time Season 16 debuted.
During the Season 16 premiere, Emily shocked viewers — and fellow cast member Gina Kirschenheiter — when she shared that Shane passed the bar exam (thanks, in part, to the fact that the State Bar of California lowered the minimum score requirement due to the pandemic).
Now that Shane is officially a practicing lawyer, Emily shared why it's been "great" for her, and for their marriage.
During the "East Coast vs. West Coast" panel at BravoCon 2022 on October 14, Emily answered a fan question about whether Shane was a "working lawyer" or not.
"Shane's here somewhere, so if you see him, tell him congratulations, because he goes to work every day, and it's great," Emily said.
Emily later celebrated her husband on Instagram after the epic weekend concluded, and she thanked him for being there to support her.
"Thank you [Shane] for not only being my biggest fan and greatest supporter but also being my shoe carrier, purse holder, snack go-getter, and all-around best personal assistant any girl could ask for," Emily wrote in her caption.
Now that Shane has passed the bar, he seems to have raised the bar in his relationship.
