Alexis Bellino Gets Painful Treatment to Fix Scars and Her First-Ever Black Eye
The Real Housewives of Orange County alum suffered a gash after tripping: "I wish I had a better story for it."
Alexis Bellino has had quite the week. The Real Housewives of Orange County alum has been living a hectic life filled with appointments, meetings, and taking care of her fam, and it looks like all the running around may have caught up to her after she suffered her first-ever black eye after tripping up the stairs (there was a hair dryer involved and it sounds painful). In a recent series of posts and Instagram stories, the OC mom shared that the entire experience of fixing her scars (both literal and figurative) has been more painful than she expected.
It all began on October 30 when the California blonde shared a pic on Insta with a noticeable black eye and gash just below her brow. "My first black eye ever.... and I wish I had a better story for it but I gave it to myself by tripping up the stairs and the hair dryer flying back and hitting me in just the right spot to cause a gash," she wrote in her caption.
Thankfully, she already had an appointment with plastic surgeon Dr. Michael Obeng to treat lingering scars on her upper thigh, so she could also deal with her unsightly eye issue.
"This is real life. Anyone who shows a picture perfect entire airbrushed instagram isn’t giving you the real," she continued in her post. After sharing more shots of her swollen face, the RHOC alum took to her Instagram Stories to take us through the pretty painful-looking experience, giving us an even closer look at her injuries.
"So I'm waiting for the doctor and I have my numbing cream on for my booboo that's getting ready to get... look at this scar. It's gnarly. And then I want to show you my eye, which happened yesterday. No, Drew did hit me. And everybody thinks that I got beat up and I did this myself. 100 percent Alexis-made — like American-made," she explained in the video.
"You need to see what has to go into removing a scar like that. I'm... just... ugh," Alexis mused in the cringe-worthy clip. "It's gonna hurt, OK! Well, hopefully not because the numbing cream will protect it."
The beauty has even taken to posing with her short blonde bob strategically styled over her eye. "Anyway, I'm a week or two away from having a normal eye so you'll be seeing all photos like this," she continued. "We've got the ice that's going on it as it happens. It still hurts. Look at the smoke! We're smokin' my skin off, but my leg is gonna look good afterwards."
Later, in a video she shared on Instagram, Alexis reflected on how her days spent worrying about her appearance has actually led to an important self-discovery.
"No stitches! Yay! It's super purple and I am super scared of what it's going to look like tomorrow. But this is the most important part of this message. As I was driving home, I was listening to gospel music and I heard God say, 'Alexis, wow. You're really working a lot on your external. What are you doing for your internal? Are you praying? Are you with me? Are you focusing on being a good mom? Friend? Girlfriend? Person? Kind and loving always? Let's work on you. Let's work on the inside. So that's my two-week challenge to all of you. I've committed to nothing external and am fulling committed to the internal."
