With a new home, haircut, and a fresh outlook on life, Jo de la Rosa is all about trying new experiences after calling off her engagement with Mark Lovette earlier this year. But, as Jo has learned, unfamiliar encounters can often come with obstacles.

The Real Housewives of Orange County alum recently got real about her latest project in an Instagram post. In the selfie, Jo appeared without a drop of makeup on, posing with a slight smile on her face.

However, this was much more than a simple fresh-faced selfie — the photo was symbolic of her true sentiments. She began: "Baring it all with no makeup for a little frustration lifehack I learned today..."

The Cali stunner went on to explain how building a new business on your own can be challenging, but also a "growing experience." She continued, "I got frustrated today working with a really small space trying to shoot a makeup tutorial. I never even got to the actual “shooting” part because there was so much technical stuff I struggled with. Nothing was going my way and I wanted to throw the camera up against the wall."

In the caption, Jo explained how she has always struggled with perfectionism. Nevertheless, she shared that this trying time taught her "it’s ok to be human and it’s ok to get frustrated."

She added: "In these challenging moments, I’m learning to take a deep breath, step away and take a break. Then hit the reset button, come back and start again - but no matter what, don’t give up and don’t let your mind defeat you telling you 'you can’t.' "Even if you have to YouTube the damn thing to find the answer like I did today - YOU CAN!"

Baring it all with no makeup for a little frustration lifehack I learned today... ✨ Doing something new when you’re building a business can come with so many challenges - especially when you’re doing something you’ve never done before. ✨ Having been on Real Housewives I always had a production crew shooting and editing everything I was on. ✨ To now be learning how to do it all on my own - setting up filming equipment, learning lighting, figuring out editing, teaching myself “all the things” has been the biggest bootcamp for me but such a growing experience. ✨ I got frustrated today working with a really small space trying to shoot a makeup tutorial. I never even got to the actual “shooting” part because there was so much technical stuff I struggled with. ✨ Nothing was going my way and I wanted to throw the camera up against the wall. ✨ There’s so much that goes into shooting videos behind the scenes people don’t see and it’s so much harder than it seems to create something of valuable quality. ✨ I’ve always struggled with perfectionism and I put so much pressure on myself to come out the gate looking polished and professional. ✨ The biggest thing I’m learning right now is I have to LET GO. It’s ok to not know. It’s ok to be human and it’s ok to get frustrated. ✨ I would rather be honest and true to the level of where I’m at right now (which is a total beginner) and have you grow with me as my production skills grow. ✨ In these challenging moments, I’m learning to take a deep breath, step away and take a break. Then hit the reset button, come back and start again - but no matter what, don’t give up and don’t let your mind defeat you telling you “you can’t”. ✨ Even if you have to YouTube the damn thing to find the answer like I did today - YOU CAN! ✨ Have a little patience with yourself and even if you suck at first doing the thing, YOU WILL get better the more you do it. ✨ This is a big reminder for me today I needed so I just wanted to share if anyone was experiencing frustration today too! #alittlecupofjo ✨ What do you do when you get frustrated?! I’d love to know so comment below! 💕
