The Real Housewives of Orange County newcomer Emily Simpson appeared on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen on August 6, and spilled the tea on how she first became romantically involved with her husband Shay — who (gasp!) used to be her boss.
Naturally, Andy dove into that, asking how the couple had transitioned from sharing a toner cartridge to sharing children. "We were friends, and we were always chatting all the time, and I think he made the first move because it just turned flirtatious," Emily shared. "It became more than friends." But, the budding romance didn't take place over candlelit dinners and walks on the beach. Instead, it happened via a medium every office worker knows well: Google Chat.
In fact, Emily and Shay got so comfortable chatting online that Shay eventually used the tool to propose to his future wife. "Was that romantic?," Andy wanted to know. Hear Emily weigh in on that — and share what exactly Shay wrote in the life-enhancing G-Chat query — in the clip above.
Whether Shay delievered the world's most romantic proposal or not, meanwhile, the couple has had a good run. The tied the knot some nine years ago, and are still happily married.
And, Emily had done her homework before agreeing to marry Shay. "I knew he was a really good dad because he was very into his daughters and spending time with them," the new 'Wife told People. "So that's a huge check mark."
