Vicki Gunvalson: I Am Hopeful That We Can All Be Friends Again
"I don't know if Shannon and I will ever be friends again like we were, but I am hopeful."
Welcome back to the start of another great season. As you can see, Lydia is back and she has been a breath of fresh air for me. The last few seasons had gotten so dark, so angry, and so hard for me to be a part of, that it's nice to kind of start on a happy note for once.
It has been a while since I talked with Tamra or Shannon. Actually, it had been since last year's reunion. I knew starting this season was going to be awkward and difficult, but I'm not going to allow them to bully me any longer and to make accusations that just aren't truthful. I am hopeful that we can all be friends again, because life is easier that way. Having all this conflict is not healthy for any of us.
I am going to do my best to keep the past few seasons (with all the conflict between us) in the past. When we weren't filming last year, Kelly and I were able to spend quality time with one another which was really nice. And Michael and Steve have also become really good friends.
Briana and the boys have brought so much joy to me, and I love them living less than 10 minutes away. I'm able to help her with babysitting if she needs me to, and Steve and I really enjoy being with them all. She is an incredible mother and wife and I'm so proud of her. Briana has been working as a nurse and has been taking the care of the boys on her own while Ryan has been waiting for his retirement release date in OKC. Good news as of this week is that he has his release date and will be officially retired from the United States Marine Corps as of 8/30/17. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as he ventures into the civilian life after being a marine for so long. I'm so proud of him, and all you who have family members or any affiliations with the armed forces, for all the sacrifices you all have made for our freedom. Peace be with you and your families.
As you can see from this episode, I had decided to move Coto Financial's offices to a new state-of-the-art building and location. Moving the company was more work than I ever imagined it would be but was totally worth it. It was nice for Kelly to stop by to see me. Although I tend to be in "work mode" too many hours of the day, it's good to get a visitor to remind me there is life outside of these four walls. The office that I am moving into is brand new so I was able to do the build out exactly the way I wanted it. It's an incredible building with up-to-date technology, all new furniture for the offices, and new computers for all the staff. Moving the office was brutal, but the good news is I was able to purge and shred a lot of unnecessary materials and documents that were outdated, which always feels good to do. It's been two months now since we have been in our new space and we are all settled in now. I can't wait for you all to see the finished space in upcoming episodes, and also the exciting news about my company Coto Financial.
I felt bad for Shannon when she was in the kitchen with David cooking. I have to believe most men don’t like quinoa as it tastes like you’re eating air and has very little flavor. Beyond the dinner conversation, more importantly I feel sorry for her sadness. I don't know if Shannon and I will ever be friends again like we were, but I am hopeful. I care about her and hate to see her so sad. We have never had an opportunity to sit down to discuss things calmly and I believe if we did do so, the past may be able to be left in the past and we can move on. I hope one day we can.
Now onto Steve. What a breath of fresh air this man has been in my life. You saw a little of him last year, but since then we have been able to take our relationship to the "next level" and he makes me very happy. He is smart, calm (you all know I am not too calm but working on it), and incredibly good looking. Our families have blended wonderfully together, the boys adore him, Briana and Ryan respect him, Mike is happy for me, and when I am in my quiet time, I thank God for giving me the opportunity to love again when I never thought it was possible.
I'm excited for this season and I believe it's going to be great. I hope you enjoyed this week's episode as you enter into our lives once again. I have a lot of incredible things I've been working on and I can't wait to let you be a part of them.
