Bring It On!

Real Kid Ashley Zarlin explains the motivation behind her skin care line, and says goodbye to OC fans.

By Kara Keough

My skin care line is called A2Z Skin Care. I have always been interested in the beauty industry, although I was unsure where that would lead me. Growing up reading magazines and seeing ads with these beautiful flawless faces and actresses with perfect skin sparked my early interest in the beauty industry. Doing something that I love makes my life more interesting, meaningful, and makes me want to work harder. I am good at this, I deserve to be taken seriously, and I have been putting in countless hours of time and effort to prove to everyone how amazing my skin care line is. I want everyone to fall in love with my products and my company as much as I have. My goal is to provide people with a simple, effective all-encompassing line. I have taken the time to research and educate myself - this is where the work came in. I love learning new things and I continue to every day! Within our dreams and aspirations we find our opportunities, and this is one that I am looking forward to sharing with everyone!

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Orange County on  Peacock and the Bravo App.

My website is up and almost ready to receive orders! Visit www.A2ZSkinCare.com and fill out your information on the contact page. I would love to know what products you would like to see in the future from A2Z Skin Care. As of right now, I am kicking off my launch with an amazing vitamin C line. This includes face wash, eye/lip cream, moisturizer, and vitamin C serum. Vitamin C is an amazing antioxidant that helps promote collagen production and helps defend your skin from free radicals, sun damage, stress, and the harsh environment. It also has been known to help prevent skin from fine lines and wrinkles. I plan on adding other lines such as an acne line, a men's line, a line for sensitive skin, a luxury line for anti aging, and maybe even a baby line! And for all of you sun goddesses, I am currently working on an amazing paraben free sunscreen. I hope to soon have my line being sold in Sephora. Check my website for current updates!

Watching my mom discuss my skin care line was hard to watch, but only because of the way it was edited. Things were taken out of context and edited in from previous shows. It was very hurtful to my mom, but I know the truth. She has been extremely supportive of my venture and is excited for me. She was practically in tears after watching that episode, but she knows that I am a strong woman and that I will let nothing stand in the way of my success. This is something I am doing on my own, without her help, but I know that I can always go to her for advice on certain things and she is always there for me. Of course this is a challenge - I am 23 and starting my own business from scratch. Nothing in life comes easy and I am ready to roll with the punches. I have teamed up with very knowledgeable people who already own and run their own businesses. I know this won't be easy and it hasn't been. I am learning and growing every day and I welcome the challenges of starting my own business.

My mom's decision to leave the show was a choice that she felt was necessary at the time. I respect the fact that she wants to keep some personal things private. We have had an amazing, although sometimes difficult, time sharing our lives with you and I have no regrets about it.

I will miss a lot of the crew that worked behind the scenes! We were really blessed to have such amazing people working on this show. It is strange having your life filmed and aired on TV for all to see and it has been a learning experience for me. People like to criticize, take things out of context and twist them around. Then there are others who have been extremely supportive and encouraging.

I would definitely consider doing my own reality series. I would love to show people out there what it takes to create a business from scratch and see everything that goes into that. I think that is something a lot of people my age could and would learn from. I know there are going to be some things that I trip up on and other things I will excel at. I am working with some very interesting people and so far we have had our ups and downs. We laugh one minute and are frustrated the next - it's all part of the adventure. As I stated earlier, this has been a huge learning experience for me and I would love nothing more than to be able to share this with people. You have definitely not seen the last of me - bring it on!
