Get In the Game
Alexis talks Tamra's Bunco party, rules to a healthy relationship, working out and more!
Tamra's Bunco party was sooo much fun! I just LOVE games! Every Thanksgiving and Christmas since I was 12 year old, my family has played cards, poker, pictionary, balderdash ... etc. So I guess it was a given that I would have a good time at Bunco! And when you put M&Ms at every table, you KNOW it's going to get crazy! LOL. That party was especially fun because of the sweet, fun girls there. Tamra has some GREAT friends! AND on top of all of that, I got to meet Quinn and Tammy for the first time!
My husband saying he'd never let me go to Greece alone totally turns me on! The truth of the matter is I would never respect a man that would wish me to travel wherever, whenever I want. Our understanding of marriage is mutual. The rules that apply to one, apply to the other. The point is, I would never want or be willing to send him to Greece without me either. Jim and I have a very happy, healthy, "no gray area" marriage. A few blogs ago, I limited our rules of our marriage to SEVEN rules to save time; but here are some more rules we choose to live by:
1. We don't vacation alone, excluding quick 2 day business or family trips where circumstances do not allow the other to come.
2. We have all passwords to emails, Facebook and cell phones.
3. There are no double standards in our marriage. What applies to one, applies to the other. It would much easier to allow your significant other to do what they want when they want, so in turn YOU can then do what you want when you want, but Jim and I feel we'd rather have no double standards. It's definitely harder, but it's our way.
My workout routines change frequently. I get bored so easily and I am constantly looking for new ways to workout and still have fun! Currently I do Pure Barre one/two days a week, run 5 miles three/four days a week, YAS (yoga and spin) one day a week, and lift weights one day. I change it up often though, and anytime new workouts come out, I am the FIRST to try it. I don't feel it is a woman's responsibility to stay in shape or look their best, it's simply a personal choice. I just feel it's important to do for yourself. Not only does your heart love you for it, but I just LOVE the way I feel after. I think one of the main reasons I do it is because it is a stress reliever. Some people paint, or ride horses, or read, but I am such a high energy person that I need it to release anxiety. It helps me be a better mom, and a better wife.
Vicki setting Briana up with the guy from her work is something I would do! Who can better pick the boyfriend/girlfriend than the parent, right? At least that's what I'm hoping for. I'm sure Briana would disagree at this point! However, I would love nothing more than pick my girls' husbands for them!
Jill, (from NYC Housewives), you stated last week that my husband is 'controlling and condescending' and a 'tough guy' and that he 'scares' you. Rest assured, my husband is not controlling nor condescending. He has a dry sense of humor, which could be misinterpreted after only seeing four minutes of him thus far. My husband is actually the biggest teddy bear you have ever met, I'm so thankful he has both sides. I think I'm the controlling one, I can't stand if he comes near my kitchen!
And you obviously don't understand our relationship because him commenting that I was "having a blonde moment" cracks me up! It's just like me telling him he's being too loud! He's Armenian and BOY can he get loud sometimes. That's just our dynamic and we laugh at each other! Don't be scared of him, I have a mean left hook if he ever tries to harm you ...
