Braunwyn Windham-Burke Gives an Update on Rowan's Health Today

Braunwyn Windham-Burke has a new perspective on fitness. Snapping a photo of herself in her home gym, where she's been staying active during self-quarantine, The Real Housewives of Orange County mother of seven made a body-positive proclamation. But, she didn't arrive at her new mindset without some conflict.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Orange County on Peacock and the Bravo App.

In the past, Braunwyn has been candid about her struggles with body image. She's also opened up about similar issues that her teenage daughter Rowan has faced. (See the clip above.)

When speaking to BravoTV.com back in 2019, the California mom said frankly: "Food was always very hard for me growing up. A lot of Rowan’s weight issues came from me ... Weight [and] everything’s always been really hard for me. Always. Even now,"

But even then, she'd started to tap into the lifestyle approach that works best for her. "It's easier for me to just eat real food and not obsess over it," she shared. She's also been working out daily, and dipping into her steam room for added health benefits. And now, Braunwyn is ready to embrace self-love in a new way.

In her April 15 Instagram Story, she wrote: "I've decided to stop trying to be skinny and to start being strong," she wrote. "I've hated my body for decades and I'm tired of it, I'm done." She added: "Anyone want to join me?"

Braunwyn Windham Burke Body Goal

Braunwyn's RHOC cast mate Emily Simpson is also outspoken about body positivity. In a 2019 post, the lawyer and party planner wrote: "Ladies! Let’s start a REVOLUTION!! Let’s head into 2019 committed to loving ourselves and our bodies, not comparing ourselves to others, embracing our own uniqueness and empowering other women to see their own power and beauty. Let’s commit to more self love and more kindness! WHO is with me?!" It certainly looks like Braunwyn is.
