Elizabeth Vargas Explains the Real Reason She Left Price Stickers on Her Food
The Real Housewives of Orange County newbie revealed the backstory of her unusual lunch spread.
On the November 11 episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Elizabeth Vargas invited Gina Kirschenheiter and Shannon Storms Beador over for lunch. The hostess put out some healthy eats, including fresh broccolini and a super-foods salad. But as you can see in the clip above, it wasn't the veggies that made the biggest impression.
"[Elizabeth] put out quite a spread," Shannon says in the video. Referring to the price-tag stickers that were affixed to the serving bowls, she added, "[Everything was] all nicely labeled on the bowls, so we knew what we were eating. And how much it cost, and how many pounds that she purchased."
But if you ask Elizabeth herself, only one of those things explain the stickers. When the luncheon came up on Instagram, the vodka maker hopped into the comments to explain why she'd presented her serving bowls the way she did.
"Omg," she wrote, adding several laughing emoji. "This was out of pure consideration for Shannon! I heard she was allergic to some things and loved to eat healthy. I thought I would make sure I showed her what she was eating so she didn't have to worry about it! But yes ... it did come across very funny. I see now why people are laughing so much."
She added, "Also, I don't take the price tags off anything. There is no need to ... most people either return things or regift. If you take the tags off they can't do either LOL. So not cutting the price off the food was simply a habit."
Mystery solved!
