There's a Perfectly Good Explanation for Emily Simpson's Turkey Sandwich in the Sauna
The Real Housewives of Orange County cast member explains the practical reason she had a sandwich in her purse.
If you peek inside a Real Housewife's purse, you're bound to find some interesting items. Kyle Richards carries sage "to ward off any bad energy," Heather Dubrow's tote contents once included a crystal periodic table, and now we know Emily Simpson comes prepared with food in her bag for any occasion — yes, even a sauna.
On The Real Housewives of Orange County's January 12 episode, Emily, Heather, and Dr. Jen Armstrong went to a sauna as part of their "self-care Friday." Before heading into the 155-degree-room, Emily quipped, "I hope we're doing lunch," and she soon took matters into her own hands. While feeling like she might "pass out," Emily walked over to her bag and pulled out a turkey sandwich. "We're detoxing!" Heather exclaimed, to which Emily hilariously responded, "It's turkey."
"Why does she have a turkey sub in her purse?" Heather asked in an interview. "You don't eat in the sauna! It's not a thing."
Well, Emily respectfully disagrees. On Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen's episode the same night, Emily explained that reaching into her bag for a quick bite is a common occurrence. "I like to carry food in my purse," she said. "Sometimes in the middle of the day, if I don’t eat, I feel like I’m gonna pass out, and if I was in a sauna, I mean, it’s like hot, it gets sweaty, so I wanted to have sustenance.”
