Kim Kardashian West opened the doors of her Los Angeles mansion to Architectural Digest (and the rest of the world) this week, revealing the very minimalist, very monochromatic design aesthetic that runs throughout the home. With nary a splash of color anywhere (except for daughter North’s room, which is awash floor-to-ceiling in one hue of pink), the home’s white-beige-neutral palette is oh-so-relaxing. And oh-so-inviting for stains!

On her Heather Dubrow’s World podcast this week, The Real Housewives of Orange County alum — who, let’s face it, knows a thing or two about designing a multi-million-dollar estate — discussed the look of the Kardashian-West home.

“It’s all really beautiful, it’s just very minimalistic, and everything is cream and white,” Heather said to her guest Lindsay Dickhout. “I wish they had shown the kids playroom. Because there’s gotta be a playroom with colorful crap in it, right? I can’t imagine they’re sitting at a monochromatic table with monochromatic pencils.”

Moreover, Heather voiced the same thought we’re all having — what about stains?!

“I just wanna know when the kids smush the cupcake or the cookie, how often are you recovering all that furniture? See, my house is pretty user-friendly, and everyone can go everywhere, there’s nothing the kids can’t touch, but my colors aren’t that light so I wouldn’t know necessarily if there was a random smudge,” Heather said, adding, “But when you have that light, man, that’s risky — but it’s really beautiful.”

As for her take on the home’s aesthetic — which some are calling “minimalist monastery” — Heather is pretty much in awe of the look, and is acutely aware of how expensive it is to achieve.

“It’s very zen, super pretty, I mean you have to have a staff to be maintaining this obviously, which is fine, it’s great. But there’s nothing on the walls, they have a sculpture, it literally looks like a white basin they stuck on the wall. It’s just all beige and white. But if you look at the details … the fabrics and everything are just really beautiful and the wall coverings and everything. I’m telling you this house was very expensive to do, every little tiny detail, but it’s just very minimalist. It’s so interesting!”

We hear you, Heather!
