These Real Housewives of Orange County Moms Share the Same Random Snack Addiction: "It's Like Crack!"

The Real Housewives of Orange County moms Emily Simpson and Gina Kirschenheiter are on the same wavelength.

The newcomers to The Real Housewives of Orange County have already made some revealing confessions to The Feast about their eating habits: For one thing, Gina Kirschenheiter admitted she was downright shocked when she moved California from Long Island to find that all everyone eats "is goddamn kale," she recently told The Feast. And Gina and fellow new O.C. wife Emily Simpson also admitted they were both taken aback by the way filming the show affected their diets — given their counterparts aversion to eating on camera: "I actually lost weight at the beginning of the season because there would be dinners but nobody was eating!" Emily told us.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Orange County on Peacock and the Bravo App.

What else did we learn about the pair's eating habits that we found delightfully eyebrow raising? Well, both are addicted to the same guilty-pleasure snack — which they keep in stock at home (nominally) for their young children.

"I like fruit snacks — the Welch's," Emily told us. "Those are the best because if you get [generic] brand, you’re like, 'This is s---ty fruit snacks!' You just gotta stick to the Welch's."
Oh, but there's a caveat: "...except, the purple fruit snacks are like the brown M&M’s. I don’t even know why they’re in there. People need to get rid of those — I just need to talk to them to get rid of those and start a petition!"

Gina, interviewed separately, told us the same thing about her go-to nosh around the house. "I am so obsessed with fruit snacks. I buy the big packs the big Costco fruit snacks, like the big box, and I’ll literally eat like a hundred of those little fruit snacks a day. Like I’ll keep them in my closet, I’ll keep them in my purse, I keep them in my glove box, and it’s like crack!

She even told us (with a dose of humor), she'd eat them for her last meal on earth. It would be, in her words, "fruit snacks, a huge bag, and a Diet Coke and a Pop Tart.

"I really love those gummies — I could put like eight [kid-sized packages of] gummies away — I could just pack them in. And it’s like nothing even happened. I mean, you could easily eat six packets of gummies and still eat like a full sandwich."

But unlike Emily, Gina is willing — even happy — to scrimp: "I like the really crappy ones — I’m eating the ones that are three boxes for 5 bucks."

Real Housewives... they're just like us.
