The expecting mom and dad, Slade Smiley, attended a blowout bash on February 24 with all their loved ones in attendance. There, they revealed they're going to have a baby girl when pink confetti exploded from copious confetti cannons over the crowd. And though they didn't announce the gender by cutting into a cake to reveal either pink or blue icing — as is another popular method — guests hardly went hungry when it came to festive sweets.
Guests indulged their sweet tooths with a cake decorated with sprinkles, and topped with a script "boy or girl" cake topper. Simply Sweets L.A. created the cake, and Layabelle Design the acrylic topper, according to Gretchen's Instagram tags.
There were apparently multiple versions of the cake. An additional confection from the single-tiered version pictured above — with multiple tiers and without sprinkles on the icing — was displayed as the centerpiece on an impressive dessert table. When the couple cut into that one, it spilled a river of pink sprinkles, as seen in a guest's Instagram video.
The dessert table held towering arrangements of blue and pink flowers, and offered various sweets like cupcakes and candies in the shades of the day.
