Candiace: Gizelle Is Quite Confused to Think I "Came at" Her
"In actuality, SHE stuck her wig in my conversation."
Bravotv.com: What do you think about Gizelle Bryant saying she doesn't want you to come to her birthday because you came at her?
Candiace Dillard: Fact: I don’t think about it. Gizelle’s commentary can be filed under the letter “F” for Fraudulent Foolishness – an ailment of sorts. Her antics at the lunch table in Nemacolin were tired and they are downright dead here. Here she is another year older and one would think – wiser. Come to find out, that ship has sailed, as she is quite confused to think I “came at” her when in actuality, SHE stuck her wig in my conversation.
Bravotv.com: Watching it now do you wish you would have been there?
CD: Is this a real question?
Bravotv.com: Tell us about working with your mom to get this storefront and her concerns/ advice with the business.
CD: There aren’t enough eye rolls in the world to describe how frustrating it can be to work with your family. My mom’s reservations about opening a second location of Chateau Salon Suites are giving me heartburn! While I do understand that as a businesswoman, it is almost always in your best interest to examine every angle of a new business, I grow weary of feeling like I have to constantly explain my dedication and preparedness to my mom. I came from her (and Jesus, obvi)! I grew up watching her every move; listening to her negotiating power and learning from her business peaks and valleys.
It definitely gives me butterflies thinking about the fact that this location will be majority my responsibility. With the flagship Chateau Salon Suites, which is located on the second floor of my mom’s building that houses her therapy practice, she was there during every phase of the process. With the second location, I will be responsible for so much more on my own since she’s in Atlanta. But that is so exciting! I have been thinking and dreaming and planning for this for so long and the challenge of it all reminds me that I am smart and scrappy and born to do the business of being a businesswoman.
Bravotv.com: It seems that you andRobyn Dixon really get along -- tell us about your friendship.
CD: Robyn is just a cool chick! All other b.s. aside, I am a believer in energies and what they say about a person and Robyn’s is fun, kind and genuine. I respect her openness as it relates to telling her personal story and not being afraid of what people will say or think. She lives her truth. And she’s fun! Anyone whom I can joke and keekee with is my kind of girl! I hope we continue to build a friendship.
Bravotv.com: What do you think of Karen Huger's story about Siri and Robyn's reaction- did you feel caught in the middle of this Robyn vs.Monique Samuels event-off?
CD: Girl, the confusion! The befuddledness! I felt like I was on the sidelines of a tennis match watching the ball bounce from Robyn to Karen and back to Robyn again.
In Karen’s defense, she has mentioned her love-hate relationship with Siri to me before, lol. That aside, I could tell that Robyn was genuinely hurt by Karen’s indecisiveness and I empathize. She had been working for months to put on a successful night of women’s empowerment and having your close girlfriends present to witness the fruits of your labors is a big deal.
I definitely felt a little caught up in the sauce of it all because I really like Robyn and Monique is my girl. I want to support them both! Monique, because I like to represent for my girlfriends however and whenever I can and Robyn because I totally and 100% believe in what she’s doing for the women’s empowerment movement!
