Karen: The Sincerity of Gizelle’s Apology Is Questionable
Karen Huger dishes on why Gizelle Bryant is still in time out - and why she thinks that Robyn Dixon should mind her own business...
BravoTV.com: What made you agree to meet up withGizelle Bryant after the press conference?
Karen Huger: I agreed to meet with Gizelle after the press conference because I needed to understand how someone, who called themselves my friend, could attack my family with such venom. I wanted her to know that her "retro, weak ironed-on alphabet t-shirt" was malicious and uncalled for.
BravoTV.com: What did you think of Gizelle’s apology? Is she still in time out?
KH: The sincerity of Gizelle’s apology is questionable. The fact that she said she was trying to be funny was a lame attempt to deflect from her savage actions. Gizelle is a grown woman who knows better and she knows – or should know - she was NOT funny. Gizelle has proven herself to be Gizelle’s friend only. I’m about positivity and empowerment. I have moved on and left Gizelle to reflect on her behavior. While I have forgiven her, Gizelle remains in time out because, in situations like this, "friends" like her need to be kept at a distance. I believe the familiar saying is "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me." The one thing I am not is anyone’s fool and she will have to prove herself to me before I let her get close again.
BravoTV.com: Tell us about cautioning Gizelle against sharing her whole life in the book.
KH: Gizelle’s words were, "My book is going to loosely based on my life as a past first lady of the church.” No one sitting at this table who listened to her attempt to read the first chapter thought it was loose enough. For that matter, nor does Gizelle, which was evident in her struggle to read the pages aloud. Gizelle’s struggle was real; she can read better than that.
BravoTV.com: You stood up for Ashley Darby saying that she owned up to her issues with Robyn Dixon. What do you think about that clash between Robyn and Ashley and thenMonique Samuels and Robyn at lunch?
KH: This lunch was about owning ill deeds and moving forward as friends. I give credit where credit is due. Ashley knew that she was wrong for constantly attacking Juan’s and Robyn’s finances and relationship, but she just couldn’t help herself and sought the therapy she needed. That’s commendable. I’m very proud of Monique for not allowing Robyn to silence her at the lunch. Robyn is known for malicious gossiping and betrayal in our circle. Robyn counts everyone’s coins (but hates it when you count hers), especially Monique’s. She frequently attempts to damage Monique’s reputation by spreading untruths about how she chooses to allocate her monies. Gone are the days that anyone in this group is going to allow Robyn - or anyone else, for that matter - to slander their character without consequences. Regardless, it’s none of Robyn’s business.
