Ashley Darby Swears Off Photo Filters in a Glowing Selfie: "I’m Not Perfect"
The Real Housewives of Potomac mom is on a "no filter campaign" to "celebrate how we look in real life."

Every now and then Bravolebs surprise us by sharing a selfie or two without a stitch of makeup. From Eva Marcille's "wash face" challenge to Emily Simpson's glowing, post-facial snap, glam-free pics minus makeup are now the norm. But a social media shot that doesn't have a little help from a filter? That might be another story. Which is why Ashley Darby's latest endeavor, designed to "celebrate how we look in real life," is so lovely.
On September 17, The Real Housewives of Potomac mom shared a smiling pic as she posed in a mint-colored, embellished gown with a burgundy-hued beauty look. Her bold lip perfectly matched her feather earring and her sandy blonde curls were styled in a tight top knot. The shot was stunning... and without any filters.
"Family, I’m on a no filter campaign. I have my own reasons but ultimately I want to celebrate how we look in real life, whether it be fresh faced or with a nice beat," she explained in her caption. "Technology has allowed us to create the most unrealistic standards of beauty that are impossible for real humans to achieve, which can foster a perpetual cycle of insecurity."
Ashley's crusade to make social media shots a little less intimidating is refreshing and much-needed. "I’m not perfect, Facetune was a steady favorite, but I’m hanging up the wrinkle eraser and showing you alla dis, pimples, wrinkles and all," she continued.
Well done, Ashley.
