On The Real Housewives of Potomac's July 11 Season 6 premiere, Karen Huger and Ray Huger were in the midst of planning their second wedding in honor of their 25th anniversary. As it turns out, there was a moment in which the couple almost never married at all.

"You remember you canceled my first wedding on me, right?" Karen asked Ray before explaining in an interview, "Ray didn't actually get cold feet. Ray got pissed off. I traveled without letting him know initially, but he needed to know where I was going before I packed my bags."

"When I got back to the house, he said, 'Give me my ring,'" she continued. "He took his ring back, yes he did."

On Part 3 of the RHOP Season 5 reunion, Ray surprised Karen with the idea of a vow renewal while talking about Robyn Dixon and Juan Dixon's wedding plans. "I need to know the date of your wedding because I got a 25th anniversary coming up," he said. "And we might have a wedding of our own." Clearly stunned, Karen opened up about how much the idea meant to her. "It was a hard year. And we worked, and I really didn't expect him to say this," she shared at the time. "I always thought we would renew our vows on the 25th year. I just, you know, because of last year, didn't think that it was possible. So thank you for the love. I look forward to it."

Karen reflected on the sweet moment on the show's July 11 episode, explaining, "When Ray asked me to marry him last year, I was blown away because we had gone through hell." However, because Karen noted, "I don't like the taboo that goes with renewing your vows. It doesn't have a good track record," she decided to plan an "over the top... nice, classy" wedding instead.
