Mia Thornton Shows Inside Her Beautiful New House: "I Absolutely Love It"

In January, Mia Thornton revealed she had moved out of her Potomac rental home (see it in the video above) due to “unforeseen circumstances.” Although she didn’t share more details at the time, The Real Housewives of Potomac cast member recently opened up about her living situation on Part 1 of the show’s Season 7 reunion.

“We are literally living off of our savings, and then, of course, money from anything else that I have coming in now,” Mia said, referencing her claim that she and her husband, Gordon, have lost access to their business bank account amid an ongoing dispute with Gordon’s brother over their chain of chiropractic clinics.

“So you were renting that huge house in Potomac and you had to give it up,” Andy said. “Now where are you living?”

It turns out the couple had to part ways with more than one home. “We were actually renting several properties,” Mia said. “We had a rental house in Charlotte. We also had a rental condo in Charlotte, and we had the rental house here.”

“Did you get rid of your rental properties in Charlotte?” Andy asked, to which Mia responded, “We had to. There’s no income coming in.”

In her January Instagram post, Mia declared, “Penthouse Living, we return!” And on the reunion episode, she shared that her new penthouse rental is in North Bethesda.

On RHOP’s Season 7 premiere, Mia opened up about living in her spacious rental house. “I have moved to Potomac. We love it. The kids love being able to go outside,” Mia shared in an interview. “I am down the street from my girl Karen [Huger].”

“Gordon and I decided to rent for the time being,” she added. “We wanted to get the kids into a home.”

As Mia explained, the property’s $10,000 monthly rent was “not cheap,” and she also paid a hefty amount to fix it up. “Even though it is a rental home, there were a few tweaks that I had to do,” she said. “I have spent somewhere north of $65,000.”
