Five episodes into this real-time love experiment and Tabasum has finally met someone she’d consider seeing again on a second date.
His name is Alex, he’s cute, he’s handsome but there’s a catch: At 32, he might be too young to get serious. And our Tab wants to get married, have kids, the whole nine yards. Now she’s “truly embarrassed” about falling back into her old pattern of dating hot, youthful, non-husband-material like Bill the Slashie.
“At the end of the day what I want is what you guys have,” she tells her sister Taseen, who’s never met Alex but already doesn’t approve. “I want to have a family. I’m not going to do that unless I take care of this and be honest about this.”
Translation: Tabasum must break the cycle and commit to finding a guy who actually wants to commit. (Not easy in New York City, birthplace of the Toxic Bachelor, but that’s where The Singles Project comes in! We’re rooting for you, Tab.)
We’ve got our fingers on advance footage of the sisterly heart-to-heart and Taseen’s Oda Mae Brown-style facial expressions are everything.
This Alex guy? He comes on strong, but he can get away with it because he looks like a model (precisely Tab’s type). Watch in awe as our tough-cookie skin doctor lets her guard down at Flatiron restaurant Harding’s and allows Alex to whisper sweet, possibly R-rated nothings into her ear. Kisses ensue.
“I don’t think I need dessert,” she coos.
