Start with an order of the most amazing French fries ever—double-fried, spiked with curry, topped with a fried egg, and considered by many to be San Francisco's best fries. What could possibly improve this situation?
A beer. A gigantic glass goblet filled with German lager, to be exact. At Hogwash—a new San Francisco restaurant that has 30 beers on tap and specializes in handmade sausages and snacks destined to be consumed with vast amounts of beer—there's this thing called the Hog Goblet. Get it filled up with Hofbrau Helles Lager from Germany, and eat it with Hogwash's egg-topped curry fries, fried pickles and a Burnin' Brock. That would be a chicken habanero sausage sandwich with harissa aioli fried avocado and fennel apple slaw.

Not to worry, there's plenty more where that came from, as Top Chef judge Gail Simmons discovers when she visits Hogwash in Episode 4 of Gail's Culinary Adventure—shot while she traveled all over California shooting this season of Top Chef. As Gail puts it, Hogwash is the place to have "a messy, boozy, beery, delicious lunch." That's all we need to know. Sold!
