Top Chef Eric Ripert's world travels are the stuff of jet-setter dreams: He rang in the new year in the Caribbean paradise of Mustique island, for instance, where he was hosting one of the events of the third annual Cayman Cookout at the farm-to-table luxe wellness resort Le Soleil d'Or. There, he shared with Jet Set some of his most exciting upcoming travel plans for the year — and they sure do range the gamut.
The owner of Le Bernardin and Aldo Sohm in New York City says he loves to return to western Europe during the summer for family and — of course — food. In particular, he can't wait to get to France and the very south of Spain overlooking Gibraltar.
But it's his upcoming trip to Nepal that he characterized as "very personal." There, the chef says he will get to disconnect, spend time with the monks, and meditate.
