If you're fond of kicking off vacation early with a drink in a lounge or on the airplane — or you're just looking for that classic envy-me Instagram shot of adult beverages on a tray table — well, this one's for you.
The folks at drinks-focused website VinePair set out to uncover which airline had the best selection of beers available in flight. Criteria included that the options should be available to every passenger, regardless of cabin. So yes, even if you're in coach, you'll get to enjoy the offerings of the airline VinePair named as the one with the very best beer selection: Virgin America. That's the good news. The bad news is that Alaska Airlines just announced it will eliminate the much-beloved Virgin America brand. So you only have until 2019 to enjoy.
In addition to standbys Heineken and Bud Light, the airline offers multiple craft beers, including Anchor Steam, 21st Amendment Sneak Attack, and 21st Amendment Brew Free or Die IPA. And get this: Customers not just in first class, but also in the main cabin select section, won't pay extra for the sudsy stuff, as beer, wine, and liquor are included in their tickets.
Virgin also has a great selection of unique snacks to wash down those brews: like veggie chips, sea salt popcorn, kettle chips, and jerky sausage.
In what is surely related news, Virgin America recently placed third overall for best airlines in America.
