When it comes to — well, anything, really — Gordon Ramsay does not mince words. He recently explained in an expletive-laden rant why his kids don't fly first class... even if he does. ("I worked my f***ing arse off" for the privilege, he says.)
Now, he's getting real again about travel — this time about what he will and won't eat while on the road. He told Refinery29 that if he's flying, he'll gladly eat at his own restaurant, Plane Food, in London's Heathrow airport. But if he's not flying out of terminal five where it's located, he tries to "keep it light" but still tasty by indulging in a snack at an Italian bar before his flight. "A nice selection of Italian meats, a little glass of red wine, some sliced apples or pears with some parmesan cheese, I’m like a pig in s***," he told Refinery29.
But airport food aside, once he boards the actual plane, all bets are off — he definitely won't be eating any airplane food. "There’s no f***ing way I eat on planes," he said. "I worked for airlines for 10 years, so I know where this food’s been and where it goes, and how long it took before it got on board."
(And yeah, there are some decent reasons to be dubious of airplane food.)
