Padma Lakshmi's last name is shared with Lakshmi, the Hindu goddess of prosperity around whom the five-day Hindu festival of lights known as Diwali is centered. So it makes sense the Bravo's Top Chef host went all out for a gorgeous and festive Diwali celebration for her friends and family, including her daughter, Krishna, and she shared a few peeks of the party via some short video clips that she shared with her followers on Instagram.

"Hinduism is never easy," she joked as Krishna and other children gathered around a delicate platter of mithai (sweets) that she was holding.

People who celebrate Diwali make decorating their homes an ornate part of the holiday, and the room where Padma's Diwali party took place was no exception. The space featured a huge traditional altar, oversized multicolor flower arrangements, and vibrantly colored draped fabrics. Guests enjoyed live music and singing while lounging on beautiful pillows surrounded by low tables and later cleared the pillows to dance.

At one point, Krishna asked for more pani puri, a crunchy Indian street food snack, which she ate over the microphone in a humorous display of Diwali-themed ASMR.

"That's my kid," Padma proudly pointed out on her Instagram Stories.

Hey, a love of food culture runs in the family!
