Melissa King Reveals She Lost 40 Pounds After a Major Lifestyle Change
The Bravo's Top Chef winner shares before and after photos, and explains how she changed her eating habits.
Melissa King is opening up about how making a major lifestyle change has led to her feeling better than ever before.
Prompted by an Instagram user to share her proudest moment, the Bravo's Top Chef alum responded that "aside from winning" Season 17 of the show, "I'm proud of changing my lifestyle and taking care of myself."
"I used to eat heavy carbs and [sugar-loaded] things late at night after working long dinner services, go out drinking heavily multiple times a week, wake up hungover telling myself not to do it anymore and would rinse and repeat," she recalled. "I didn't work out, eat well, or prioritize my health/body/mind. I had 40 [more] pounds on me than I am today."
She added:" I was just unhappy on the inside. It takes a lot to change your habits, but I feel younger and more alive now than ever!"
In a separate Story, Melissa took a moment to emphasize that the decision to make a lifestyle change is a unique and personal choice. "I also want to state this is me reflecting on MY poor decisions of heavy drinking, partying, and being unkind to MY body and [its] effects on MY soul. I wasn't happy during this time of my life," she wrote. "Your body and how YOU feel in it is your journey and is a different experience for everyone. I'm proud of you if you feel confident in your being! Shine!"
