Padma Has an Epic Response to Being Called "Immoral" for Not Wearing a Bra on Camera
The Top Chef host handled the unnecessary criticism in hilarious fashion: "I'm wearing two today."
Padma Lakshmi has been making the most of her time in self-isolation. The Bravo's Top Chef host has been gifting us with delicious recipes, adorable mother-daughter cooking lessons, and even sexy dance sessions from her bathroom. But while Padma has our backs with creative self-quarantine content, it seems that some people have been more preoccupied with her front. For Padma, not wearing a bra while filming helpful food tutorials has brought on the critics — and she has a message for them.
Yes: Bravolebs, they're just like us, in that they too don't feel the need to don restrictive clothing (read: bras, jeans, or anything without elastic waist bands) while staying at home. Such was the case when Padma filmed a tasty chicken tagine recipe while wearing a casual, body-hugging, gray dress minus a cumbersome bra on April 10. While most of us wouldn't find the clip scandalous, Padma received criticism for her free-flowing attire.
"I got some comments last time that it was immoral for me to not wear a bra in my own kitchen during the quarantine," she wrote alongside her tutorial for lasagna with white ragu on April 14. "So those people should be happy to note that I’m wearing two today ?." In fact, you can plainly see that Padma is rocking, not one, but two blue ribbed sports bras in the clip. Better safe than sorry.
She ended her clap back on an equally epic note saying, "But seriously, let’s not police women’s bodies in 2020 ok?"
Tell 'em, Padma.
