After Diet and 60-Pound Weight Loss, Top Chef’s Richard Blais Is Training for a Marathon
Richard Blais made a radical lifestyle change with his diet — and now he's setting his sights on an ambitious new project.
Richard Blais is a new man after making permanent changes to his diet that resulted in a dramatic 60-pound weight loss. And now the Bravo's Top Chef alum and Top Chef: All Stars winner is setting his sights on another ambitious project — and this one is outside the kitchen altogether.
Whereas he remembers he used to "just wake up uncomfortable, all the time" while carrying the extra weight and eating unhealthfully, these days, Chef Richard is all about spinning — and indulging in his favorite post-workout treat. Yes, he might as well be a Californian, because lately he's all about the acai bowls:
And he's putting all that fitness training toward a particular goal: He's starting training for the New York City marathon!
On his Instagram, the chef shared, "Off to spin in St. Louis to start the day! I’ve been to 4 classes in Nashville, Austin and now The 314 this week. Needless to say I’m enjoying a new form of cardio as I start training for NYC Marathon."
Wishing the newly svelte chef the best of luck!
