This Is Where Padma Lakshmi Thinks Top Chef Should Film Next
The Bravo's Top Chef judge thinks that this city has an "interesting mix of cultures."
Padma Lakshmi recently appeared on Live With Kelly and Ryan, and it wasn't long before Ryan Seacrest tried to get a teaser: Where will Bravo's Top Chef film next? "Do you get to decide, because you're always somewhere different, how do you guys pick where you're going to be?" he asked Padma.
The judge responded, "There are so many things that go into that decision, and it's certainly not mine. But a lot of it is where have we been in the past, what's new? At this point, you know, our show has luckily been on so long, so we've been to most cities, and so I would love to go, I don't know, to Philadelphia — or Atlanta is where I really want to go."
Is that so she can hang out with Kandi Burruss, Nene Leakes, and the rest of The Real Housewives of Atlanta ladies? Well, maybe in part. But the reason Padma gave on the morning show had a bit more to do with the city's culture and heritage. "[Atlanta's] got this interesting mix of different cultures, and then also [chef] Edna Lewis spent time there, and I love Atlanta. There's Emory..."
So, will the chefs pack their knives and head to Atlanta next? We shall see! But in the meantime, Padma's continuing to enjoy filming in Louisville, Kentucky. When Kelly Ripa asked if if she'd tasted the city's famous bourbon, she said, "I've done everything but bathe in it!" Watch the clip here.
