Khloe Kardashian Mourns Death of Dog Gabbana; Read Her Touching Tribute

Khloe called the 14-year-old black lab “my first child.”

The Kardashians are known for sharing every aspect of their lives on social media, be it good or bad. But last night, Khloe shared some of the saddest, most difficult news any pet lover can face: Her dog of 14 years, Gabbana — whom she affectionately called “Goober” or “Gooby” — had passed away.

The reality star is currently seven months pregnant, but she called her dearly departed dog “my first child” in a deeply touching tribute on her Instagram:

She also thanked her fans for their support on Twitter:

The elderly black Lab had been with the Kardashian-Jenner family for 14 years, but Khloe took on the role of Gabbana’s primary caretaker. She even brought the dog into her home when Kris and Caitlyn (then Bruce) Jenner split.

“When my mom and Bruce separated, I was immediately like, 'Let me take Gabbana!'” Khloe wrote on her site. “She was the family dog, and since Kendall and Kylie both moved out, I thought Gabbana was lonely. I wanted her to have a fun home again!!! She'll spend all day playing Frisbee and swimming in the pool, and can even dive up to 15 feet!!!...She is so well-trained and super smart, and she loooves Pup-Peroni, haha."

It is obvious that Khloe gave Gabbana the life of her dreams, as she often popped up in the Kardashians’ social media going for swims (her favorite activity) and being covered in kisses.

She was especially beloved by Kendall Jenner, who echoed Khloe’s sentiments on her own Instagram:

i’ll miss your kisses forever Gooby 💔 i know you’re up there swimming, little fishy

Our condolences to Khloe and the rest of the Kardashian clan. RIP sweet Gabbana.
