Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval's Tips for Holiday Hosting
The Vanderpump Rules couple has lots of thoughts about what goes into a successful party.
Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval have some smart and experienced advice for those who are about to host a party at home. The Vanderpump Rules couple, who just released their book Fancy AF: Cocktails, just hosted their first holiday dinner party in their brand new home, which they've decorated festively for the season. And they've thought of more than what their guests will see when they get to the house.
"Have something that smells good," Ariana suggested to BravoTV.com. "A good-smelling candle, like a balsam. You want to be decorative, lots of sparkle.”
Tom advises thinking like a bartender before the guests arrive.
"When you’re doing your drinks, pre-batch them," he suggested. "Try to stick to stuff that’s refreshing and light and that gives you energy. Something like coffee, caffeine-based, matcha, something like that, but pre-batch them. That way, you’re not making drinks the whole time.” Ariana and Tom shared a recipe for a gold-gilded cocktail called Self-Indulgent, which would be an especially fun one to make.
Tom also suggested getting cool coasters as an opportunity to further engage their guests: “I like games. We have these coasters that have trivia on them and questions."
When it came down to actually decorating the house, Ariana and Tom have figured out that their holiday decorating styles are a little different from each other, but luckily they're complementary approaches.
“So, I am more, I like green and sparkle," Ariana explained. "Tom likes the classic red, multicolored lights. I like just white lights. So, outside is what I like and the inside is what he likes.”
“Yeah, it’s great. We’ve done a pretty good job," Tom said.
"We’ve got the tree up!” she added.
Ready, set, get fancy AF!
