Ariana Madix Has a New Jawline and Her Plastic Surgeon Is Spilling All the Details

The Vanderpump Rules beauty's plastic surgeon reveals how he transformed her neck and jawline — without a scalpel.

By Marni Eth

Ariana Madix always keeps things real, so her fans have known that she hasn't exactly loved her neck area. Way back in November, the bartender shared she thought she "[doesn't] have a jawline," and that her makeup artist Jared Lipscomb draws one on her face when he gets her all glammed up. Ariana isn't the only one in her friend group with concerns about her jawline — fellow Vanderpump Rules SURver Brittany Cartwright used non-surgical Kybella injections to help with her chin area. Recently, though, we learned that Ariana actually turned to a plastic surgeon to seek a more permanent solution.

The Lookbook spoke to Ariana's doctor, established board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Gregory Mueller, to get the scoop on how he totally transformed her neck and jawline using a new technique called Ellevate™ in just an hour. Dr. Mueller specializes in facial rejuvenation, body contouring, and non-surgical technologies, and created Ellevate to help patients slow down the aging process without downtime.

Dr. Mueller explained that it’s “a great procedure for patients that are wanting to be preventative, and/or not ready to completely go under the knife.” It’s “the perfect way to restore a youthful appearance and shape” or “to improve a less-desired, genetically inherited neck.”

What exactly is Ellevate and how does it work?

Dr. Gregory Mueller: Ellevate is a minimally-invasive procedure to support, shape, and rejuvenate the neck. It involves the creation of an invisible support structure underneath the skin that is placed through small needle punctures. It helps redefine and re-contour natural structures, and restores a more overall youthful appearance. Ellevate also preserves the neck area from aging for quite some time, with extremely long-lasting results. It is an outpatient procedure performed under local or general anesthesia, which is completely patient preference, and is typically one hour in length.

Does it hurt? What’s the recovery time?

The procedure is comfortable, with minimal pain and discomfort. Typically patients recover within three to six days post-procedure, and can resume a normal work schedule within that timeframe as well.

Are the results immediate? How long does it last?

Ellevate results are immediate, natural, and last five-plus years in most patients. Ellevate is also a very preventative procedure, and preserves the patients’ natural contours and structures from aging at the normal rate of time.

How much does it cost?

The cost of Ellevate is between $8,000 to $13,000, depending on each patient. Every patient is different in his or her aging process, and different concerns may need to be addressed from patient to patient.

How does this procedure differ from Kybella or a neck lift?

Kybella only dissolves fat in the neck and behind the chin area, and does nothing to contour the neck and jawline. Ellevate utilizes liposuction and support through an invisible structure to define and contour the neck/jawline. Ellevate is also much less invasive than a neck lift, and does not require external sutures or cutting of the skin.
