These Hairsprays Make the SURvers' Hairstyles Last All Day (and Night)

There's absolutely no way to predict what drama will go down next on Vanderpump Rules, but there’s one thing you can count on: The ladies of SUR will look gorgeous going through it. Beachy bobs will remain tousled. Sleek ponytails will stay perfectly in place.

And turns out, the superstar product responsible for their live-through-anything hairstyles is surprisingly simple. “Hairspray is the key component to locking in every look,” said Bradley Leake, who’s created iconic looks for Brittany Cartwright, Stassi Schroeder, Ariana Madix, and Kristen Doute.

But — as you probably already know from the half-empty bottles scattered around your own bathroom — not all hairsprays are created equal. “The right product should create a style that easily lasts all night or can just as easily be brushed out and restyled,” he noted. So with that tall order in mind, Leake shared the five hairsprays he returns to again and again when working with Kristen, Brittany, Stassi, and Ariana.

Leake took Kristen’s already-gorgeous bob to next-level sexiness by lightly tousling it and locking the look in place with Living Proof Full Dry Volume Blast. The trick: “Flip your head upside down and spray the product about 2- to 4-in. from scalp. Then, use your fingers to generously massage it in to create volume,” he said.  

Leake dialed the volume on Brittany’s hair to the ‘70s by teaming up a small-barrel curling iron with a hairspray designed to be flexible. “Color Wow Cult Favorite Hairspray is my #1 go-to for any hair type,” he said. “You can spray it at the hairline for a firm yet flexible hold without the sticky residue, and it’s also great to smooth down flyaways by spraying on a brush or comb.”

“This texture spray is great because it’s not only a heat protectant, but it adds the perfect amount of volume and texture to the hair,” he said, crediting Color Wow Style on Steroids with protecting Arianna’s strands while giving her beachy bob staying power. “I use it before adding heat to the hair for beach waves and after to add major volume and texture.”
