Dayna Kathan's Hilarious Beauty Tutorials Will Seriously Brighten Your Day
The Vanderpump Rules cast member discovered it's not easy to be a beauty influencer.
Dayna Kathan is keeping herself (and her Instagram followers) occupied as she stays home in self-isolation to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). From virtually hanging out with her Vanderpump Rules cast mates to sharing throwback photos from a hotel pool party, the aspiring comedian is posting lots of lighthearted content. Now, she’s creating her very own hair and makeup tutorials, even though she admittedly doesn’t fully know what she’s doing.
“I’d say like, three — probably two and a half people — have asked how I do my cat eye, as well as my bun, so I thought, ‘You’re inside! Why don’t you do this?’ So I’m just gonna do it!” she explained in her first video.
The SURver revealed that her go-to products are a Sephora-branded pencil that she uses on her waterline, and a Pat McGrath eyeliner that she uses to create the wing.
“Don’t sleep on Sephora eyeliner. It’s the s--t,” Dayna said. “I feel like it makes your eyes more open and hot.”
Throughout the tutorial, Dayna acknowledged that it’s actually pretty tricky to be a beauty influencer.
“Wow, it’s really f--kng hard to talk and do this at the same time,” she said. “These bitches know what they’re doing!”
Although creating a tutorial was a bit more difficult than Dayna had anticipated, she also created a second video, showing how she constructs her signature messy bun. It’s actually a surprisingly simple process; she simply teases her ponytail to create a fuller look without using extensions.
Dayna did not give up, though, and even created a third video, in which she showed how to get her subtle, everyday glam. By the way, she defines “subtle” as: “Subtle being, I used 45 products.”
“I think my main takeaway from my last tutorial was that I should not be giving tutorials... but here we are,” she said.
From Supergoop tinted sunscreen to her favorite Glossier serum to a very broken Becca highlighter compact, Dayna revealed all of the products that go into her daily look.
Although Dayna feels like her tutorials may not have been super helpful, they are guaranteed to give you a good laugh, which is probably more useful when you’re stuck at home, anyway.
