Tom and Katie Discuss How 2 Foods Completely Ruined Their Sexy Plans

"It's really hot and it's good, but it's not sexy," Vanderpump Rules' Tom Schwartz said of the meal.

By Abby Feiner

When Tom Schwartz wanted to have sex with Katie Maloney-Schwartz in their stunning new home for the first time, he planned a romantic date night at the abode to set the mood. Unfortunately, thanks to some ambitious menu choices, the sexy evening took an unexpected turn.

In the Vanderpump Rules After Show clip above, Katie was blown away when she came downstairs to find their dining room decorated with balloons and a home-cooked meal waiting for her. Although she called the moment "romantic as s--t," she admitted that the food in front of her was not her favorite fish.

As it turns out, Tom and Katie have slightly different memories of the dinner. "I didn't know she didn't like tilapia," Tom said in an interview as he sat alongside Tom Sandoval. "Who doesn't like tilapia? That's, like, a universally-liked fish."

Well, it's possible Katie may like tilapia after all. "He made mahi, which is, like, my least favorite fish food ever," Katie explained in her own interview alongside Stassi Schroeder and Lala Kent. "I do not like mahi at all."

While Stassi was quick to point out the fish has "two mahis" in its name, Lala asked if they had sex despite the meal mishap.

"No," Katie said. "Because we had spicy chicken."

As seen in the clip above, Tom ordered fried chicken that was just a bit too spicy for him.  As he began to guzzle water and started sweating, he noted to Katie that his reaction to the meal was "killing our date night vibe."

"I'm definitely not doing a whipped-cream bikini now," he said. "My balls are too sweaty from the fried chicken."

In the interview, Tom elaborated on why the meal deterred his efforts to finally have sex with Katie in their new house. "It was Dave's Hot Chicken in the valley. It's really hot and it's good, but it's not sexy," he said. "I was sweating everywhere. Maybe once you're having sex being sweaty is kind of hot, but going into sex already sweaty is really gross."

It seems the two were in absolute agreement. "It went from being ... almost romantic, could have gone that direction," Katie said in her interview, "to being, like, really not a sexy time because it was, like, spicy chicken, sweaty."

However, Katie noted that not all foods ruin the mood for the couple, as she recalled: "We did have sex on top of a piece of cake one time."
