Lisa Vanderpump Shares the 5 Biggest Hosting Faux Pas That Everyone Should Know
The Vanderpump Rules boss explained exactly how "hosting in the dining room should be the same as hosting in the bedroom."
When Lisa Vanderpump appeared on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen on March 23, Andy called his guest "the definitive dinner party hostess." And since Lisa's new E! series, Overserved, is all about hosting parties, Andy asked for a teaser of sorts.
During his "Watch What Happens 5" segment, Andy asked the Vanderpump Rules boss to name the top five "hosting faux pas that everyone should know." Here are the cringe-worthy party mistakes that Lisa rattled off:
"Hosting in the dining room should be the same as hosting in the bedroom — there are so many parallels. Bright lights: No, no!" Lisa said. The moral here: Keep the lighting "dim and romantic." Next, the soundtrack shouldn't be too loud. "It should all be kind of beautiful background music, sexy music — same for the bedroom," Lisa advised.
Moving on to point number three, the SUR owner cautioned hosts to be fully prepared for their guests. "Passing out before your guests leave," Lisa pointed out, is another miss. "You've gotta stay alert. You've gotta stay awake," she said.
But Lisa's number-one, top faux pas was for the guests: "Make sure you don't come too early." And that tip too, she added cheekily, applies to the bedroom as well.
