Austen Kroll Didn't Know Who Kate Chastain Was at BravoCon, and Things Got Awkward
The Below Deck chief stew tried to convince the Southern Charm gent she was a Housewife.
With nearly 90 Bravolebs in attendance throughout the epic three-day weekend, BravoCon 2019 was the ultimate crossover. In fact, many Bravolebs met each other for the first time ever during the event.
Most of the introductions seemed to be warm and friendly, but unfortunately, Austen Kroll did not make the best first impression with Kate Chastain.
During the November 17 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen from BravoCon, the host asked Kate if she was "kind of nervous" about meeting anyone during the show since she's "pretty opinionated" while live tweeting her favorite Bravo series. "No, I've met everyone in the green room, and they were all so lovely," Kate said (clip above). "Except Austen from Southern Charm was like, 'Hi, what show are you on?'"
The crowd showed their major disapproval of Austen's move, but Kate said it was "fine." "So what I told him was, I said, 'It's the seventh season. I'm on Real Housewives of Thailand Ocean,'" Kate said.
When Austen appeared onstage with the Southern Charm crew, Andy Cohen had to get to the bottom of this, asking the Charmer if he really didn't know who Kate was. "OK, that was, she said she was on Real Housewives! She told me she was on Real Housewives of Thailand," he shared (clip below). "I said, 'You are pulling my leg.'"
Austen's explanation did not appear to be satisfactory to the audience and was met with some boos.
Sounds like the grande dame of Southern Charm, Patricia Altschul herself, needs to school Austen on how amazing Below Deck is. She's already given the series her seal of approval and has even hung out with Captain Lee Rosbach in Charleston, along with Shep Rose, Cameran Eubanks, Craig Conover, and Danni Baird.
