Andy Cohen on Hanging with Sarah Jessica Parker: It's Like "Walking Around with the Empire State Building"
The #WWHL host lists some of his favorite — and least favorite — New Yorkers.
New York is full of cool and interesting people that you can cross paths with on any given day. Whether it's in line to grab coffee or trying to get inside the latest hotspot, you're bound to bump into someone fab on the tiny island. And if anyone can list who in the Big Apple is the hippest of the hip, that person is Andy Cohen, because he's often out and about with those fab folks.
When Bravo After Hours caught up with the Watch What Happens Live host recently, he listed who from NYC — living or dead — tops his list of favorite New Yorkers. "Andy Warhol because my book is inspired by Andy Warhol's diaries," he said. But he's not the only great Manhattan resident who defines NYC for Andy.
"Diane von Furstenberg is a favorite New Yorker and she lives down the block from me," he said. "And she plays a really important part in the new book. She gives me some really serious advice about my love life which I wind up taking and then I find a boyfriend, which is incredible. And she urged me to get out of my box with my dating life, which I did and it worked."
No surprise here, but Carrie Bradshaw herself also made the cut. "Sarah Jessica Parker is an iconic New Yorker and I love her," he said. "Walking around New York with her is like walking around with the Empire State Building — everybody can't believe what they're seeing and they all want a picture."
