There's nothing not fun about being in LA during Oscar weekend. By that I mean: It is fun to be in LA on Oscar weekend. In other words, it was a good weekend. The bummer is that I went to a lot of great events that would never have me back if I blabbed and blogged about them. But I can say a couple things.
Friday night was a big fantastic party and the highlight was chatting with Posh and Becks. He might be the most handsome thing on two legs. I met a lot of other people including P Diddy and Taylor Swift, who were not together, but both very nice.
Saturday was a picnic that Barry Diller and Diane von Furtstenberg have in their yard. I think their house was the only sunny spot in LA; it didn't rain a drop on the party. I had a lovely chat with the Queen of my TV World. I will give you a hint, her name starts with O. We talked about Diana and Iyanla and Twitter, and she was lovely and hand-holdy and very cool. I also liked shmoozing with Ellen Degeneres, Julie Chen, and Carolina Herrera.
Saturday night was a gathering of some friends at the West Hollywood Palm. I love that Palm, because there's so much Hollywood history there. It really has been a canteen for the rich and famous for years. We had a great meal.
I am still getting over last night. We watched the show with friends in Beverly Hills, and I feel it was a massive achievement that instead of sticking knives in our eyes when that kids' chorus came out at the end, we somehow were able to muster the energy to go to the Vanity Fair party. Here I am ready to split with Miss Ellen Barkin, who looked amazing in L'Wren Scott.
The party was a blast. Here I am with two real Beverly Hills housewives, Jackie Collins and legendary composer Carol Bayer Sager.
After that we went to Madonna's party until basically sunrise. It was a lot of dancing and essentially was Oscars unhinged. I'll never tell what I saw! OK I'm getting on a plane home... Have a great day!
