How the Many Preferences of Below Deck's Charter Guests Led to a "Major F-ck Up"

Get details on what went down during Below Deck Season 11, Episode 9.

By Allison Crist

Just when you thought Season 11 of Below Deck couldn't get any crazier after two crew members departed the St. David on the same episode, it does — and this time, it's all thanks to the latest group of charter guests.

Who were the charter guests on Below Deck Season 11, Episode 9?

The primary guest on the April 1 episode of Below Deck was a former cruise director named Melinda. She was joined by her husband, Noah, and the following charter guest couples: a fashion executive named Gary and his girlfriend, The Real Housewives of New York City alum Jill Zarin; Laura and Peter; and Josh and Jennifer.

Why was the Below Deck crew "very stressed" with the charter guests on Season 11, Episode 9?

The St. David crew was stressed by the demands of Melinda's group before they even boarded the superyacht. Chief stew Fraser Olender, bosun Ben Willoughby, and chef Anthony Iracane's worries started to creep in at their preference sheet meeting with Captain Kerry Titheradge, during which they learned about the guests' lengthy list of likes and dislikes.

Once the charter began, the demands grew from there. The yachties were particularly stressed out by Jill, who routinely gave recommendations to improve their service such as pre-stocking the bathrooms with a flurry of personal items and giving the primary a button they could press whenever they wanted something from the crew.

What led to Chef Anthony Iracane's "major f-ck up" on Below Deck Season 11, Episode 9?

After Anthony presented the charter guests with an appetizer sans a veggie option for the primary Melinda, Fraser told Captain Kerry that dinner was shaping up to be "a disaster" and "a sh-t show."

Anthony, however, justified his decision by recalling his conversation about dinner with Jill, during which there was no mention of a veggie appetizer. On that note, Kerry said, "What's happening is if Jill's rattling our cage too much and we're focusing on Jill, we should be focused on the primary."

"They are our number one," Kerry continued in a confessional interview. "He is in charge of that. That's his f-ck up and it's a major f-ck up. He's out of his depth and he's just imploding. I can't afford these mistakes anymore."

The Below Deck episode ended with Captain Kerry issuing another warning. "We can't drift away from what the primary wants," he said. "Otherwise we're gonna make more and more mistakes."
