See the Aftermath of the BDM Yacht Losing Its Stabilizers: “This Is a F--king Mess”
Motor yacht Home was in rough shape following a “dangerous” malfunction.
After motor yacht Home’s stabilizers went out on the Season 7 premiere of Below Deck Mediterranean, the issue was resolved relatively quickly on the show’s July 18 episode. As Captain Sandy Yawn put it, “Thankfully, no one got hurt” — but there was some notable damage on board.
“There’s glass all over the sky lounge upstairs,” Natasha Webb explained. “Bottles have all fallen off the bar and smashed.” As multiple crew members went to look at the deck, one could be heard saying, “This is a f--king mess.”
In an interview, chef Dave White explained how the incident impacted his next meal for the guests. “I had a boiling pan of water that went into the fryer, and I had to try and catch it,” he said. “I was prepping for dinner, but now all my food’s all over the place.” Elsewhere in the galley, where cookware had fallen all over the floor, Natasha, who “got a few cuts” from “cleaning glass up,” was seen sweeping more shattered glass and coffee pods that had fallen as well.
During the episode, Captain Sandy explained why the malfunction put everyone on board in a “very dangerous” situation. “Stabilizers are fins that stop the boat from moving from side to side,” she said. “The crew could get hurt. A guest could fall over and bump their head. Anything could happen.”
