Chef Adam Glick Shares the Backstories Behind His Many Tattoos
The Below Deck Sailing Yacht chef uses body art to commemorate his seaborne adventures.
Adam Glick is known for his culinary artistry, but he also has some intricate works of art covering his biceps. "I do have multiple tattoos," the Below Deck Sailing Yacht chef said in the video above. Then, he shared some of the backstories behind the ink.
"Most of [the tattoos] have come from the journeys overseas, working on boats," Adam said. "I once worked on a commercial sea boat, so I got myself a harpoon through a fish." That's not the only nautical image you'll find on the chef: On his wrist, an inky anchor means "you're always anchored to your home," Adam said.
That doesn't mean that Adam's home very often, mind you. "When I sailed to Hawaii I got the hula girl [tattoo]," he said, showing off the whimsical design, which features a girl swaying in a grass skirt as she strums a ukulele. When he crossed the equator, he got inked with a turtle. There's also a delicate map running down his arm.
"I did all of those beautiful tattoos that I wanted to do, to best commemorate my time on the boat," Adam said. Watch the video above to see Adam's ink up close, and to hear the other crew members' thoughts on body art.
