Below Deck's Josiah Carter Got a Dramatic Haircut for the Sweetest Reason
The Below Deck stew said goodbye to his "signature" hair in favor of a totally new look.
Yachtie Josiah Carter is looking completely different these days from when we last saw him on Below Deck. The always-capable stew just made a dramatic change to a hairstyle that's been his signature, and this cut is for a terrific reason.
Josiah's mother is fighting cancer, and to support her and to raise money for the UK's The Mustard Tree Cancer Support Centre, Josiah decide to make a big statement.
"As a lot of you know my hair is my signature, it's very important to me, a bad hair day is just generally a bad day," he wrote on a crowd-funding site. "The last thing I would want is for me to have my head shaved and lose my hair, but if we can raise enough money I will shave it all off! And by all off I mean completely off."
"We all know someone who’s been affected by cancer and in my case it’s my mum," Josiah explained on Instagram. "Cancer makes you feel powerless but if you can make a donation however large or small to help me achieve my target then I’ll feel I’ve done something to help."
Josiah raised an impressive amount (more than $8,000!), and he shaved all his hair off at a celebration party for his mom, who just finished her last round of chemo.
He looks pretty dashing with a clean-shaven look! Although he's still getting used to know his new style. "Missing my hair in this photo," Josiah wrote on a throwback Instagram post.
The new buzzcut gives a new spin to his wardrobe too. "Why so serious... (I think it’s the new hair cut)," Josiah joked about his #OOTD with a floral jacket and Alexander McQueen kicks.
