Below Deck's Kate Chastain Just Got a Massive Back Tattoo in Tahiti
"Sorry mom," the Below Deck Chief Stewardess quipped.
As Below Deck's Chief Stewardess, Kate Chastain has traveled the world in style. And though she's (literally!) cruised through the Caribbean, Central America, and New England, the charter queen's latest trip to Papeete, French Polynesia may be her most ... shall we say ... indelible.
On March 27, Kate took to Instagram to show off a snap from her latest adventure. With her back facing a mirror, the up-do expert showed off a new back tattoo that features four diamond shapes traveling down her vertebrae.
Along with showing off her new ink, Kate used the snap to offer a bit of tattoo-related history. "Fun fact: The origin of the English word ‘tattoo’ actually comes from the Tahitian word ‘tatau’ and goes back as far as 1500 BC," she wrote. The things you learn!
Though we can't say for sure whether the ink is permanent or not, Kate left a telling note to her mother that suggests this ink won't rub off. "Sorry mom," she quipped.
