7 Things You Never Knew About Bella Hadid's Hair

FYI: She's not even a brunette

By Bryce Gruber

If you're obsessed with the Hadid sisters, you probably already know that Bella and Gigi are like yin and yang in most ways—and that includes their hairstyles. Gigi's long, blonde locks are a perfect contrast to Bella's edgier, dark 'do. But like everything else in the world of high fashion, just about everything is an illusion. We caught up with the hair geniuses responsible for some of Bella's most iconic looks to dish on what her mane is really like.

1. No, her hair isn't naturally dark brown

"Her natural color is a much lighter version of what she has now," explained Keith Shore, her colorist Sally Hershberger Tim Rogers Salon. She goes darker for a variety of reasons.

2. She's totally over ombre hair

"When she first came in she had some ombre-ish, grown-out subtle highlights," shared Keith. "We went for a darker, richer palette but using a semi-permanent product so she never has a line when it grows out."

3. Her darker hue gives her a bolder beauty look overall

"By keeping her color a bit richer and deeper it creates a more dramatic palette." Keith also suggested Bella opt for a richer, darker brown shade to give her fair skin and light eyes a much bolder contrast. "That is currently trending in the industry," he says.

4. Bella has super fine hair

Bella's stylist at Sally Hershberger in New York, Eddie Parra, says: "Bella has fine hair which is very easy to damage. But all things considered, I think she has healthy hair."

5. Treat her with kindness, not chemicals

Eddie, who is closely acquainted with all of Bella's follicles, says: "I don't see a need for any chemical treatments for her hair, and I doubt she has ever tried one." Virginity is important.

6. She never wants to look too done

Parra, who is responsible for her recent lob haircut, shares that Bella almost always wants that lived-in look. "I know she loves a super natural flat wave that almost looks like she never got it done. I think even if she does see a hairstylist she doesn't want to look like she did, which is what makes her look so cool and modern. It's that undone French girl look."

7. She uses dry shampoo to add texture

Bella is into adding a little dry shampoo to her otherwise fine hair to give it texture and body. "We finish it off with some 24k Dry Shampoo to give her some texture and a more lived in look 'day after hair' if you will," says Eddie. Bella is all about that hardly-tried-at-all look.
